Becky
Becky’s attraction to Pilates stems from a lifetime of classical ballet training. The choreography of the Pilates repertoire and many of the Pilates principles connect Becky with her love of dance. Much of the focus on integrating movement patterns to strengthen and enhance flexibility, balance and agility comes naturally to Becky.
After teaching mat Pilates for several years at a local fitness facility, Becky began training with Mariah on the Reformer, became certified, and has been teaching group and private classes for over 15 years.
Becky’s teaching style revolves around cueing her clients to move through their available range safely and efficiently incorporating her favorite Pilates principles of concentration, control, and breath. She enjoys sharing with her clients the fluidity of movement as well as the many benefits of Pilates: improved posture, flexibility, core strength and greater balance of the musculoskeletal system.
Becky holds a BA in Psychology from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a MS in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University. She worked in television production and news before starting her career in Pilates. She has multiple Pilates certifications through Powerhouse Institute (PHI) and Balanced Body. She is also a Level 1 Gyrotonic® Pre-Trainer.
